Daddy's Zombie Tag Game

Zombie Tag is basically a traditional game of tag, but instead of one poor kid hopelessly chasing around everyone else, anyone who is tagged becomes a zombie and helps "tag" the remaining humans.

One kid starts as the zombie, and any other kid who gets tagged also becomes a zombie. This continues until everyone is a zombie. The last remaining human gets to be the zombie in the next round.

This game works best with large groups of kids. It's much better than traditional tag because slower children don't feel victimized (since all the zombies have to walk) and no one is ever left standing around while the "it" player hopelessly chases another kid. Optionally, you can prohibit EVERYONE from running, which evens the playing field, and rewards kids with better planning or decision-making skills. ("Where is the best place I can be to avoid the zombies for as long as possible?")

Rules:

• Zombies cannot run. They must walk or shamble with their arms outstretched.
• Moaning the word "Brraaaaainssss" is highly recommended.
• If you are tagged, you become a zombie and must help chase down the remaining human players.
• The last human player remaining becomes the zombie in the next round.
• The game area should be designated so kids know where they can run, and can't escape the zombies.
• For example, the area around a playground structure makes for a great game space.
